YAY CON! -Spaz Dance-

It has been 61 days since my last post. I really should concentrate on this thing more often. -sigh-
Ok, so what have I been up to?

So, the first thing that jumps to mind is the fact that I went to Con. Saboten-con, to be exact. And this made me extraordinarily happy. It was more fun that Con-Nichiwa (although I'm really looking forward to that in March) simply because it was so much bigger. I didn't cosplay (not enough time or money.), but I got the chance to hang out with some pretty awesome people (Ashley and her friends, Leann and her friends. <3) I came away from that Con with what I was intending to: an attendance to a panel on Bleach and a Ichimaru Gin plushie (it's pretty much my favorite thing ever right now.) Have I mentioned that he's my official favorite character in Bleach? I'm sooo glad he's actually the good guy. Except that then he died... Opps, sorry. Did I just spoil it? (It's kinda a given that he dies, though...) Next Con, I'm aming for either a Sesshomaru or Allen Walker plushie (or a Crona plushie, if those even exist.) And Crona brings me to my next topic.

Ok, yes. I didn't cosplay at Con, but some of my besties threw a Soul Eater cosplay party. I wasn't given much warning though... This is how it went:
Regina: Hey, you want to come to our Soul Eater cosplay party?
Me: Yeah.
Regina: Awesome! You should be Crona.
(Planning, etc.)
Me: -hangs up, stares at the phone- Ooook... now I have a week to get together a cosplay...
It didn't turn out half bad, actually. I'm going to perfect it by Con-Nichwa, and I'll have a Ragnarok. CAN'T WAIT!
Well, that's enough anime fangirling for now.

The other thing that's made me really happy recently is the fact that I finally got to see Avatar (the one with the blue people.) It was really good. And the blue people made me really happy. Especially their tails. I like tails.

My last note for this post relates to the fact that I'm letting Ashley borrow my tablet. (This is making her really excited and it makes me smile. :D) However, I feel like I'm going to forget to bring it on Monday. I have this urge to write "TABLET" in huge letter in sharpie up my arm. I feel like a scenario like this is going to happen:

Me: -takes off jacket-
One of my friends at church: Why do you have "TABLET" written on your arm?
Me: So I don't forget it. (Obviously)
Them: Ok then.

Well, then good night.

(Well, one last burning question to leave you with: Is Crona a guy or a girl? :D)

On the Subtleties of Cats and Other Subjects

I find it rather amazing that when I finally have the time to sit down and write a post for this, everything that I've done for the past 2 weeks just sort of fly out the window. But I'll see what I can extract from the recesses of my brain.

Well, for starters, I went on not one, but 2 retreats. One with my school, one with my church. Both were loads of fun and a few of the highlights are as follows:

- Watching people star tip without stars (and not joining in.)
- Being called a ninja by my English teacher during a game of Underground Railroad.
- A rather insane bus ride back, during which my Honors English period (7th) raced the other Honors English period (1st) to use every one of our 20 vocab words in a senetance. We won. :D
- Being creeped on by Michael. (Acutally, that's not really much of a highlight. That's more of a low light... or a scaring experience.)
- Star watching.
- FOOD! I love UCYC food.
- Having a conversation about Artemis Fowl with Michael of all people.
- General insanity.

Michael and his gilly suit. The thing should be banned, just on general principles.

Hmm... Now what else happened...

I bought a volume of D. Grayman. And it made me happy. And I'm not going to go on a fangirl rant about Allen Walker. No, no I'm not.

I also went to the first home game for my school. We got pounded. Literally pounded. It was horrible. The ending score? If you really want to know, it was 35-3. Considering how obsessed with sports my school is, we didn't do too great.

At any rate, I will leave you with one last story before I leave you to your lives. Today when I left my house I saw one of my neighbors walking her cat. Now I belevie that it just kind of stupid to try to walk a cat. Cats are not walked. Cats walk you. And if you get this mixed up in any way, then you will be treated to a look of, "Just who do you think you are?" At any rate, this cat would walk forward a couple of feet in normal cat like fashion, then she would reach the end of her lead. She the proceeded to turn around, and reguraded her owner with this look of, "What is this strange creature that is somehow attached to me?" It made me smile.

Well, I supposed I'll write something else soon.

Acutally, one last side note: Have you noticed how many lists I have been making on this thing? I think it's from my perpetual writer's block... :-\

My Life in 10 Bullet Points

Hello again... I'm not dead yet.

I actually don't have an awful lot to talk about. I mean, stuff's happened, but it's not that noteworthy. Hm... best way to deal with this (and writers block -head desk-) is to make a list.

1. Made friends on the bus (Only took me 3 years.... -sigh-)
2. Role-played A LOT.
3. Played Resident Evil 4 (I'll tell you a story about that after my list.)
4. Wrote a 5 page essay in 2 days. (Ick)
5. Almost did a meme. (I still might do it, I just need to drag my art muse out of the attic.)
6. Watched White Collar (<3! I finally finished the first season.. :D)
7. Decided to go to Con. (There's going to be the voice actor of Ichigo there... -swoon-)
8. Tried to decide who to cosplay at Con. (I'm leaning towards Rukia at this point.)
9. Fangirled over varioius things. (White Collar, Inu-Yasha, D. Gray Man)
10. Cried while reading the newest chapter of Bleach. (Chapter 416... -sniff sniff-)

Ok, so Resident Evil 4. It's a game about a practically post apocalyptic world where there are mostly only Zombies with pitch forks, chain saws, scythes (etc.) trying to kill you. It's extraordinarily violent... but so much fun. My friend has it and we've been slowly working our way through it. Funny story about the chain saw, though. It's a one player game, by the way. One person plays (as Leon), and the rest of us stand around yelling at them.
The Infamous Chain Saw Incident:
-While Playing Resident Evil-
Josh: Why do I hear a chain saw?
Everybody else: BEHIND YOU!
-Poor Leon gets decapitated... That happens to him a lot-

It's kind of gone down in history. We like making fun of him for it. I beat one of those little buggers today too (the chain saw guys. They're a different breed of zombie and they're harder to kill.) Good times...

Yeah, so I'm going to Con. And I need a costume... And people to go with... It's a work in progress. If anyone has any tips on how to get a Rukia costume together in a month when you don't have very much free time, please tell me... :D

Finally, on Chapter 416. Skip this part if you haven't read the chapter, MAJOR spoilers.
Ok, I really was crying by the end of this chapter. Gin is (was) one of my favorite characters. Ah well, at least he died the good guy... -sniff sniff sob- And there was a major GinRan moment at the end. And then Ichigo showed up with something that looks suspiciously like a body over shoulder and no explanation... Next chapter's gonna be interesting...

I feel like this was a boring post... sorry.

Till next time, my fine compatriots.

L-squares and... death.

Oh, look... I'm not dead.

Ok, first off, a reference to Bleach-In-A-Box. Haven't the last few chapters of Bleach and Naruto been pretty much the best thing ever?! I mean, seriously. They've been freaking amazing! On another (related, for once) note, I figured out why there are parts of Naruto that suck so much. All of the amazing characters died before the manga even started. Minato? Kushina? They're all dead... and come to think of it, that's pretty depressing. So I think I'm gonna shut up now... Ok, moving on.

Ok, so here's what I've been doing since I last posted.
I have...
Gone to the mountains.
Played my violin until my fingers practically fell off.
Planned my death.
Gone on my first legit roller coaster.
Become obsessed with roller coasters.
Had a dance party in a moving car.
Written a book report and a half.
Gone to registration.
Contemplated Inu-yasha, Bleach, and Naruto.
Written very little.

So, the mountains and violin stuff. I went to a chamber music camp recently. Chamber music, in layman's terms, is small group music. For instance, I played in a quintet as a second violin with another violin, a viola, a cello, and a bass. We played Boccherini's Quintet in E major, Opus 13, No. 5. I love chamber music, so this was loads of fun. A little note on CMIM (Chamber Music in the Mountains. That's what the camp's called.): In all of your spare time, you play cards. I have never played so many card games in my entire life. I've also perfected the art of shuffling at this camp.

Next, the roller coasters. My church went on a trip to Six Flags the day after I got back from CMIM. That place is amazing and I love it so much. My first roller coaster ever: Terminator Salvation: The Ride. It's amazing. My favorite roller coaster ever: Colossus. The best ride at Six Flags to ride at night (with or without your eyes closed): Ninja. That place is so much fun.

Then there was the dance party incident. My Church was traveling to Six Flags in three 15 passenger vans, our normal mode of transportation. Our van literally started up a dance party in the line to get into the Six Flags parking lot. Our leader (who was driving) rolled down his window and told every car we passed to turn the radio. It was amazing, but then we tried it with an older man with two little kids in the car. That effectively killed it. But still. It was absolutely amazing.

There was also a guy doing wheelies on a motorcycle at 40 MPH on the freeway, but that's another story.

As for planning my own death, it has been decided (not by me) that I am going to be killed, put out for viewing in a golden violin case, then cremated and scatered out at sea with Regina and Elizabeth. I really do love them. <3 :D

I think I'll end this post here. Good night.

Wait, I lied. One last side note, in the form of a very true conversation between my mother, my father, and myself:
Dad: "Why is there an L-square in your bedroom?"
Later
Dad: "I've never had an L-square."
Mom: "Neither have I."
Me: "Don't look at me."
Dad: "Maybe one of your friends brought it too a sleepover."
Me: "If that's what you want to think, sir."
Dad: "Yeah. I'm going to bring an L-square to my friend Dora's house for a sleepover and hide it behind her chest of drawers. Won't she be surprised."

And another conversation later that day, between us.
Mom: "I have no memory of buying this!"
Me: "Maybe there's a fairy in our house that brings random things."
Dad: "Well then, it has very diverse tastes. Violin duets, L-square. Why can't we have a fairy who brings chocolate bars?"

*Fan Girl Moment!*

I was planning on writing a blog post every day, but the computer died and then I was lazy… so the long and the short of it is that I’ve only got two blog posts to show from this vacation, but hey, at least I wrote some. Ok, so here’s what I’ve done since my last blog post:
1. Seen Knight and Day and The Sorcerer’s Apprentice (The former for the second time. I love that movie…) The Sorcerer’s Apprentice was ok, not worth seeing a second time, though.
2. Gone to Sedona, the land of crystals and other spiritual… stuff. They had a sign for chakra readings. All I could think of was Naruto.
3. Gone shopping in places that are far far out of my price range. Nordstrom and American Eagle? Defiantly not where I normally shop. I did however manage to get a shirt from Abercrombie, but only because it was waaaay marked down. It did make me happy though, I now own something brand name.
4. Watched way too much TV. Whenever I’m in a place where there is cable, I just kind of vegetate on the couch and watch Crime Scene Investigation shows. A few of my favorites are Law and Order: Criminal Intent, Monk, Bones, NCIS, and Psych. Why Criminal Intent? Because Robert Goren (Vincent D’Onofrio) is the best thing in all of those series. NCIS and Bones crack me up. Monk is a family thing. Psych is hilarious.
5. Stayed up till at least midnight every single night. :D
6. Purchased the fist 24 episodes of Bleach which made me (very) happy! The subtitles are kind of fail, thought. Case in point: “Do you know my pajamas?” The proper  translation (I’m guessing. I do not speak the Japanese.) “Do you know where my pajamas are?” The first thing I thought to say to the TV: “No, not personally. I am interested to get to know them better, however.”
7. Cultivated fan girl tendencies towards a couple of new things, which is now what I am going to write about right now.
Ok, so I found what is pretty much the best show ever. White Collar. I love it to absolute death. It’s kind of crime scene investigation, but with white collar crimes instead of murder (bank robbery, forgery, etc.) I’ve only seen two episodes, but I’m defiantly planning on getting the first season on DVD. Yes, it is that good. At any rate, I am kind of a Neal Caffrey fan girl now (main character in White Collar.) He reminds me of Artemis Fowl, if Artemis ever became a lady’s man or was stupid enough to get caught (not happening.)
The other thing I became a fan girl of Katsina dolls. Katsina dolls are these little dolls that are made by Native Americans and they embody evil spirits. I love them. A lot, actually. My parents got me one and I am going to put it in a place of honor as soon as I repaint my room.
I saw something rather entertaining today when I went to see The Sorcerer’s Apprentice. There were these people at the mall that were half cosplaying. By half cosplaying I mean that there was just enough of the costume so you knew that it was a character, but they were still wearing normal clothes. When I first saw them, I just thought, “Hey. People with spikey hair.” Which made me think of Kingdom Hearts (I don’t know why) and then I noticed this one girl. She had her hair up in pigtails, and it was dyed red with the cheap aerosol stuff. Now, for reasons beyond me (maybe a connection to Temari?) the accepted hair do for a female version of Gaara. So, these pigtails reminded me of him. Then I saw her face and I knew she defiantly was trying to imitate Gaara. How do I know? Well how many people do you know that walk around the mall with the kanji for “love” written on their forehead in red eyeliner pencil? She was also wearing an FMA t-shirt. Totally made my day.
I’m going back home tomorrow, so adieu. (Did those two things have any connection? Not really.)

On one final side note, I’m watching Law and Order: SVU out of the corner of my eye on USA and every time there’s a commercial for White Collar, my eyes go to it and I stop typing for long enough to watch it. Totally obsessed. :D

On yet another side note, I just bought 4 volumes of Bleach on the way back home (we stopped at a used book store. $4 each and I now only need volumes 9 and 19 before I have every volume from 1 to 21 (or 22. I don’t remember.)) Yes, this is being typed in the car, I’m not seeing the future or anything.

Chastity Beds

I have departed my home and I am now staying in a resort 2 ½ hours away. Don’t get me wrong, I’m totally loving this, but still. I’m lurking around here at 11:30 at night (Yes, that is the current time) with no Internet watching a mediocre movie called “Van Helsing.” I’m making up for my separation from all the world but the people that I’m staying with by typing this blog post up to post later. At any rate, on with the post. (Would I like to use the word “post” a couple more times?)
So, the resort. We (that is, my family and I) are staying in a resort with my father’s old college roommate. He has a daughter about my age and that is who I am sharing the living room with. The step up of the rooms where we are staying is this: A living room with a tiny kitchenette off of it. Then, two bedrooms connecting to the living room, one with a double bed, one with two single beds. Two bathrooms, one next to each bedroom, complete the floor plan. It is about the room with the two single beds (my parents room) that I plan to talk about next.
If you look back in the history of film it goes roughly like this:
1. The silent movie.
2. The movie with very rough sound.
3. The black and white movie complete with the film code.
Now, the film code was pretty much the moral compass of movies for a very long time, until it was repealed sometime after color was invented. Pretty much, the film code said no nudity, no sex, no gory death scenes. The complete opposite of most (if not all) movies directed at anybody above the age of 8. Another little nuance of the film code was beds called chastity beds. These were the only beds that were only shown in bedrooms, even in married couple’s rooms. My parent’s room has chastity beds. This entertains me far more than it should.
Greg, my father’s old roommate, has the ability to make friends with pretty much anybody with just a few words. He’s kind of like Naruto in that way (and only in that way.) And here’s a story about this. The last time we went on a vacation with them, all of us went to go see Batman: The Dark Night when it first came out. Now, apparently the air conditioning wasn’t working in the theatre we were in. I didn’t notice this, mostly because I was too enthralled with the many explosions on the screen, but others were not quite so entertained by these. So Greg went and talked to the manager of the theatre and got us all tickets to not one, but two other films. I still don’t know how he did it.
At any rate, I’m off to continue watching “Van Helsing” which is actually really good. Vampire trying to kill things (and sometimes succeeding), Vampires walking straight up walls, Vampires dying, sexual tension. Fun stuff. Count Dracula is overly dramatic in this movie. “I’m at war with the world!!” etc. He also has 3 wives (2 now. Van Helsing killed one.) At any rate, I’m off to continue watching this movie (and maybe write a fan fiction.) Have a good day.

Of Water, Lemons, and Sharpies...

I don't feel like greeting you today, so I shall just dive into my post. Isn't that nice of me?

Anyway, first off: Water park was amazing! (I don't think I mentioned this in my blog, but I did talk about it a bit in my Vlog. Search Parasiticpadawan in Youtube to see it.) Pretty much, I went to this huge water park with a couple of my friends and it was THE BEST THING EVER! (Well, maybe not the best, but still. It was fun.) I didn't even got that sunburned, which made me a good deal happier than it really should. However, I think that the sunburn is doing something strange to my sleeping schedule. I've been waking up at 10 (am) for the past two days and no, I have not been staying up to outrageous hours of the morning. Maybe the sunburn is sucking my energy or something... We live in a very strange world.

Here's another (rather unfortunate) part of our strange world. This strange part is called... [gulp] [whispers] lemons... [normal tone of voice] No, not the citrus. If you don't know what a lemon is, disregard this part of the post and ask the nearest otaku you can find. At any rate, I had the unfortunate experience of reading an unmarked lemon a couple of days ago. I had accidentally read what I thought was a lemon sometime around Christmas break or so. Now that I've read a full blown lemon (accidentally, accidentally!), I know that the story that I had read before was no lemon. I feel... dirty now. I mean seriously, why oh why do people write these things? To be perfectly honest, I feel like I read Make Out Paradise (Jiraya's books from Naruto). Yes, it really was that bad... Here's hint: DON'T READ LEMONS! And if you do write them (which I sincerely hope that you do not) please, for the sanity and innocence of your readers, MARK THEM.
I'm done now...

Ok, next on my list of things to talk about is my tendency to talk to inanimate objects. I present to the jury this situation:
I walk into my room looking for a sharpie. After examining the last place I saw my sharpie and finding only a pen in its place, I say to the pen, "You are not a sharpie." Continuing on to my floor, I find my pencil case, the logical next place to search for a sharpie. This object is greeted with, "That's a pencil case." I open the pencil case, find a sharpie and say to it, "You are a sharpie."
Insanity? Maybe, but it is rather fun.

Finally, I only wish to reference Jen's more recent blog posts about seeing Psycho and our finding of the Naruto birds. Those little puff balls kind of made my day.

I'll probably put up another Vlog in a couple of hours. Good night.

Life in China: Part 1

So, who wants to hear about the Yucatan?!
[Now I'm going to pretend that I heard a very enthusiastic, affirmative reply.]

The format that I am going to use for this particular post is that I'm just going to tell stories as they come into my head. Here are the basics about the trip:
We went to China, Campeche, Mexico (As in, China [city] Campeche [province] Mexico [country]. Just thought I ought to clear this up. I didn't acctually go to China. At any rate, on to the random stories.

Story One: Bus Adventures Part 1
If there is one thing that I love about my Youth Group leaders, it's that they're pretty flexible. How do I know this, you ask? Well, they let my friend Mack and I ride from Cancun to China on top of the seats. Mack had a ninja thing going, with most of her weight on one seat, and her foot stretched across to another. I chose to sit sidesaddle on mine. Suffice it to say that the seats were boring.
Also, my friend Robin and I began singing songs from The Lion King (We often do this on church trips.) In very short order, Sean, a kid my age that I've known since 6th grade or so, yelled at us to stop. Come to think of it, he did the same thing on the Ski trip when we started singing... Maybe he just has no appreciation for good music... (Jk, Sean. Jk.)

Story Two: Hammock Tales
When my church goes to the Yucatan, we sleep in hammocks. I have a rather epic one of my own by my couch currently, waiting to be hung up. At any rate, during the period of rest between dying in the heat working and VBS, my group (Robin, Sierra, Beth, and Mack) hung out in the living room, squished into Beth and Mack's hammocks. This is also extended to the night, when we would hang out and watch the june bugs run into the fan after dinner. During this particular incident, I believe that Sierra and Beth were in Beth's hammock and I was in Mack's, with Mack (who couldn't see the floor, by the way). Robin was on the floor. The incident went something like this:
Robin: I'm hoooot.
Beth: [Opens up full water bottle and dumps the contents on Robin's stomach]
Robin: Gaaah!
Mack: Did Beth just throw up on Robin?
[Laughter]
Yeah, we're special...

We also rigged up bunk hammocks and played Scum in them. These bunk hammocks lead to our next story:

Story Three: MY TAILBONE!
This one is fairly short. Mack didn't retie the knot on my hammock tight enough, and so when she sat in it, it feel down and her tail bone was sad.

Story Four: A Blast From The Past, or I Forgot To Put This At The Beginning
There were two inside jokes that ran through this mission trip that began the night before at Sierra's house.
1. I'm in Pineapple...
The Explanation: I was getting up, Beth trips me, and I go sprawling out across the floor. I reach for Sierra's washing machine and try to say, "I'm in pain!" but it came out "I'm in pineapple..."
2. My body is sad...
The Explanation: A quote from a show Beth likes that was quoted through out the entire trip.

Story Five: Gold One!
There was a gold slug bug that was on the same corner every day and it never moved. People were slugged for it every day multiple times. 'Nuff said.

Of course, there are more, but I'll write some more tomorrow.

Have a fantastic day, my comrades in arms!

I'm Not Dead Yet!

I don't really feel like posting the no doubt forthcoming huge long post about my 10 day long Mission trip to the Yucatan just now... So I'll summarize it for you:
1. Aaaaaaand... It's awkward (We're done, It's Weird, etc.)
2. Participating in the murder of various bugs
3. Writing an Ode to Tuna
4. Dropping a cinder block on my leg
5. Getting to work on the roof
6. Almost dying multiple times
7. Nico drives like a mad man
8. Deep conversations in hammocks late at night/bunk hammocks (BEST THINGS EVER!)
9. Resort in Cancun rocks!
10. GOLD ONE! (Referring to Slug Bugs)
And that's aaall she wrote. :D

Moving on now...

And now, for our main attraction:

*~ Dora's Survival Guide ~*
(An idea stolen from Jen *I's loves you!*)

1. Dora needs to stop asking 6 year old kids for directions and get a GPS.
I'm going to presume this talking about Dora the Explorer and try not to become insulted.
2. Dora needs improvement.
... I am now left speechless. Oh, hello gutter. How's it going?
3. Dora needs glasses.
Dora has glasses, thanks for the concern, though.
4. Dora needs to channel Madea and his real mom too.
Eh? Who is this Madea and why does he have a fake mom (For starters) and why am I channeling him?
5. Dora needs a home.
Yeah, and according to this Craig's List add I'm a pregnant rabbit. We can't always trust what we read.
6. Dora needs a stylist.
Gee, thanks Internet. Love you too.
7. Dora needs to clean up all the garbage on the seafront and in the sea using her vacuum.
Vacuums work in sand? And underwater? Amazing! I guess you learn something new every day!
8. Dora needs to become a tween like GI Joe needs to become gay.
I... am kind of speechless. I just... I have nothing to say, m'k? Absolutely nothing (As I keep talking...)
9. Dora needs to complete her quests.
That reminds me, I haven't been on Runescape in forever...
10. Dora needs summer.
Well, I am rather fond of summer...

And that's just with my nickname. A few selections from my real name:

Dorothea needs to meet new people.
Probably true, I suppose.
Instead of brood over her losses, Dorothea needs to face those who would make less of her contributions and stand up for her accomplishments.
I don't even want to know...
Dorothea needs work.
I'm a minor...
Though Alfred pays lip service to Dorothea's needs, his escapades in the middle of the night, worship of her sister Alice, reliance... [etc.]
... And again ... And again ... [etc.]
Dorothea needs to learn that Joe is gonna live with them and stuff!
Who the heck is Joe and why do I care?
Dorothea needs power, capital and, to some extent, freedom.
I has some of all of the above.
Dorothea needs someone to marry her sister Rose to keep the girl away from her opium- supplying boyfriend, Fraser.
Dorothea's sister has sucky taste.

And now I'm done with another pointless post. You may return to your lives.

So Basically...

All right, so here’s the thing. I am trapped in a car driving to L.A. That’s a nine hour car trip, ladies and gentleman. We started at about 2. It is now 4:50. We are just getting out of Phoenix. 352 miles to Los Angles and I’m already bored. Ah well, makes for interesting stories. Well, maybe not interesting, since all I’ve been doing is playing Yu-Gi-Oh! GX: Spirit Caller (uber fun game, by the way. Portable dueling = win!)

What I really should be doing on this car ride from hell is my homework, but… well, there’s a funny story about that [shifty eyes]. So I was looking at my planner, and I was thinking, “I should probably start practicing from my Memory Map. (Mr. Lewis’s gift to us freshman… X_X ß Dead face.)” Then I just sorta starred at my planner… and starred at it some more… And you could kinda see my enthusiasm meter hitting rock bottom. So I didn’t work on my memory map. And the moral of this story is… I am not very good at motivating myself.

We stopped for lunch a while ago. We went to Chipoltle. I am writing very short sentences. At any rate, it was my vote that decided our destination. The conversation went something like this:

Mom: Well, what do we want? McDonalds? Wendys?

Me: I don’t want fast food. I want Chipoltle.

Dad: And what’s Chipoltle. Slower food?

Me: Yeah. I like my food medium fast.

Welcome to the family.
I suppose you might be wondering what prompted me to go on a cross-country trip in the middle of the school year. Well, it’s my cousin’s Bar Mitzvah. I really wish his birthday wasn’t in the middle of the school year. (Bar Mitzvah = Jewish coming of age ceremony which happens when they turn 13. I’m not sure if I already explained this. You see, I’m writing this without Internet in the middle of nowhere.) Don’t get me wrong, I love my cousin and everything, but I’m not good at the whole “party” thing. Not unless my friends are involved. 250 miles to Los Angeles.
We just stopped at Quartsite and I got ice cream! (Dibs to be exact.) Love that stuff. It’s pure crack, I swear… :D Mint gum was also purchased. And now the sun is setting, which brings an end to all things that don’t have lighted screens. (We’re also in the middle of nowhere again, but then again, when are we not on this trip? By the time we get anywhere interesting, it’ll be dark and I won’t be able to take anymore pictures.) On a totally unrelated note, my soda just spilled in my lap. Not a happy camper… It is 7:30, and I’ll write more later.

We’re in the middle of nowhere and my parents just turned on the radio, to see if anything would come in. Something did. Justin Beiber singing “Baby” did. My automatic response was, “Ack! Turn it off! Turn it off!” They did. And then:

Me: I hate Justin Beiber. And yes, that was a guy.

Mom: Really? It didn’t sound like one.

I think I can honestly become a fan of the page on Facebook entitled, “ ‘Wow, that girl has such a pretty voice.” “That’s Justin Beiber, Mom.” Oh, excuse me. I can “like” it. (I shall not rant about how they took away the option to become a fan of something. I shall not rant about how they took away the option to become a fan of something. [etc])

Beiber Blast! Hah!

Yeah, so that was my day. I didn’t get to L.A. until 12 (midnight) and then I had to get up at 6:45 to go to my cousin’s bar mitzvah. (His name’s Sean, by the way. The older one’s name is Eric. He’s 2 years older than me, Sean’s 2 years younger.) And there you have it. Have a nice life. :D
