Life in China: Part 1

So, who wants to hear about the Yucatan?!
[Now I'm going to pretend that I heard a very enthusiastic, affirmative reply.]

The format that I am going to use for this particular post is that I'm just going to tell stories as they come into my head. Here are the basics about the trip:
We went to China, Campeche, Mexico (As in, China [city] Campeche [province] Mexico [country]. Just thought I ought to clear this up. I didn't acctually go to China. At any rate, on to the random stories.

Story One: Bus Adventures Part 1
If there is one thing that I love about my Youth Group leaders, it's that they're pretty flexible. How do I know this, you ask? Well, they let my friend Mack and I ride from Cancun to China on top of the seats. Mack had a ninja thing going, with most of her weight on one seat, and her foot stretched across to another. I chose to sit sidesaddle on mine. Suffice it to say that the seats were boring.
Also, my friend Robin and I began singing songs from The Lion King (We often do this on church trips.) In very short order, Sean, a kid my age that I've known since 6th grade or so, yelled at us to stop. Come to think of it, he did the same thing on the Ski trip when we started singing... Maybe he just has no appreciation for good music... (Jk, Sean. Jk.)

Story Two: Hammock Tales
When my church goes to the Yucatan, we sleep in hammocks. I have a rather epic one of my own by my couch currently, waiting to be hung up. At any rate, during the period of rest between dying in the heat working and VBS, my group (Robin, Sierra, Beth, and Mack) hung out in the living room, squished into Beth and Mack's hammocks. This is also extended to the night, when we would hang out and watch the june bugs run into the fan after dinner. During this particular incident, I believe that Sierra and Beth were in Beth's hammock and I was in Mack's, with Mack (who couldn't see the floor, by the way). Robin was on the floor. The incident went something like this:
Robin: I'm hoooot.
Beth: [Opens up full water bottle and dumps the contents on Robin's stomach]
Robin: Gaaah!
Mack: Did Beth just throw up on Robin?
[Laughter]
Yeah, we're special...

We also rigged up bunk hammocks and played Scum in them. These bunk hammocks lead to our next story:

Story Three: MY TAILBONE!
This one is fairly short. Mack didn't retie the knot on my hammock tight enough, and so when she sat in it, it feel down and her tail bone was sad.

Story Four: A Blast From The Past, or I Forgot To Put This At The Beginning
There were two inside jokes that ran through this mission trip that began the night before at Sierra's house.
1. I'm in Pineapple...
The Explanation: I was getting up, Beth trips me, and I go sprawling out across the floor. I reach for Sierra's washing machine and try to say, "I'm in pain!" but it came out "I'm in pineapple..."
2. My body is sad...
The Explanation: A quote from a show Beth likes that was quoted through out the entire trip.

Story Five: Gold One!
There was a gold slug bug that was on the same corner every day and it never moved. People were slugged for it every day multiple times. 'Nuff said.

Of course, there are more, but I'll write some more tomorrow.

Have a fantastic day, my comrades in arms!

I'm Not Dead Yet!

I don't really feel like posting the no doubt forthcoming huge long post about my 10 day long Mission trip to the Yucatan just now... So I'll summarize it for you:
1. Aaaaaaand... It's awkward (We're done, It's Weird, etc.)
2. Participating in the murder of various bugs
3. Writing an Ode to Tuna
4. Dropping a cinder block on my leg
5. Getting to work on the roof
6. Almost dying multiple times
7. Nico drives like a mad man
8. Deep conversations in hammocks late at night/bunk hammocks (BEST THINGS EVER!)
9. Resort in Cancun rocks!
10. GOLD ONE! (Referring to Slug Bugs)
And that's aaall she wrote. :D

Moving on now...

And now, for our main attraction:

*~ Dora's Survival Guide ~*
(An idea stolen from Jen *I's loves you!*)

1. Dora needs to stop asking 6 year old kids for directions and get a GPS.
I'm going to presume this talking about Dora the Explorer and try not to become insulted.
2. Dora needs improvement.
... I am now left speechless. Oh, hello gutter. How's it going?
3. Dora needs glasses.
Dora has glasses, thanks for the concern, though.
4. Dora needs to channel Madea and his real mom too.
Eh? Who is this Madea and why does he have a fake mom (For starters) and why am I channeling him?
5. Dora needs a home.
Yeah, and according to this Craig's List add I'm a pregnant rabbit. We can't always trust what we read.
6. Dora needs a stylist.
Gee, thanks Internet. Love you too.
7. Dora needs to clean up all the garbage on the seafront and in the sea using her vacuum.
Vacuums work in sand? And underwater? Amazing! I guess you learn something new every day!
8. Dora needs to become a tween like GI Joe needs to become gay.
I... am kind of speechless. I just... I have nothing to say, m'k? Absolutely nothing (As I keep talking...)
9. Dora needs to complete her quests.
That reminds me, I haven't been on Runescape in forever...
10. Dora needs summer.
Well, I am rather fond of summer...

And that's just with my nickname. A few selections from my real name:

Dorothea needs to meet new people.
Probably true, I suppose.
Instead of brood over her losses, Dorothea needs to face those who would make less of her contributions and stand up for her accomplishments.
I don't even want to know...
Dorothea needs work.
I'm a minor...
Though Alfred pays lip service to Dorothea's needs, his escapades in the middle of the night, worship of her sister Alice, reliance... [etc.]
... And again ... And again ... [etc.]
Dorothea needs to learn that Joe is gonna live with them and stuff!
Who the heck is Joe and why do I care?
Dorothea needs power, capital and, to some extent, freedom.
I has some of all of the above.
Dorothea needs someone to marry her sister Rose to keep the girl away from her opium- supplying boyfriend, Fraser.
Dorothea's sister has sucky taste.

And now I'm done with another pointless post. You may return to your lives.

Sake. Oh the havoc we could wreak... wreck?

Konichiwa! (I is expanding my vocabulary!)
Ok, moving on.

I have discovered that my friends do not need alcohol to become un-inhibited.  How do I know, you ask? Well, the fact that during Orchestra today they were (among other things) seeing who could blow the biggest spit bubble and plotting the demise of the Elephant population of Africa (actually, I was a part of that, but more on that later.)

Today, I managed to convince my mother to purchase the necessary grocery-stuffs to make tacos. While there, I was also able to get some Oreos (LOVE!). I have a question for my devoted readers [cough cough] How do you eat your Oreos? 'Cause I split mine in half and eat the filling first. I don't think anyone else does that. Ah well, I always was an odd one. Also, on the way back from said grocery store, I mentioned the phrase, "wreak (wreck?) havoc." An argument then ensued about whether it was wreak or wreck. I'm still not sure which one it is, come to think of it. Anyway...

I've been reading a lot of Bleach lately, the most recent part of which was the epic battle between Kenpauchi and Ichigo. I was thinking, if Yachiru hadn't met "Ken-chan" she probably would have grown up to be a lot more... calm?

(Courtesy of Onemanga)
I think Zaraki rubbed off on her.

At any rate, back to the former topic of sake and elephants. We were discussing the phrase "slow as a sloth on sake" and form there, there was a lengthy conversation that ended in us bringing about the extinction of African elephants through sake poisoning.

That's the end of my story, folks. Have a nice night.

"I've got it! He's bald!" And Other Stories with Morals.

Hi.
Ok, now that that's out of the way, have you ever wondered how Anime character's hair does what it does? I mean seriously.

About the Sasuke picutre... I mean it does show what I'm talking about, with the whole hair thing... But I just had to throw this out there, because I'm fairly sure that's Yaoi... with himself.
On this subject there was once a rather long conversation in the Freashman Hallway with Jen, Ashely, Regina, and myself. It went something like this:
Me: I mean really. For Sasuke's hair to do what it does, it would have to have the consistancy of straw... or there would be large amounts of hairspray/gel involved.
Jen: Maybe it's a wig.
Ashely: Yeah, maybe...
Me: I've got it!!! He's bald!!!
[Note to those involved... I might be forgetting parts of this conversation]
The moral of this story is: Don't leave a bunch of otakus alone in a hallway. 'Nuff said.

At any rate, here's the rest of my weekend:
So, I went over to my friends house and hearded 7th graders and tried to make sure they didn't destroy the house. They didn't, but I can't say as much for my glasses, which are now in two pieces. The end of this particular fiasco? Well, I stayed up 'till 4:30 and had to get up early the next morning to work on a project. Not fun.
So, after the project was over and done with, I went to my other friends house to help out with her family's dinner party. Yummy food and a whole lot of inside jokes including, "Well, at least we're wearing shorts." "Don't let the grizzly get you." and "The hurricane's coming!" That was fun, and then I went to the Mission Trip meeting at the my church.
Things I have learned from that meeting:
  1. Maxie pads are from now on to be referrred to as "Nail Polish"
  2. If you don't want to carry anything, put it in Sean's suitcase.
  3. Ken is going to kill us all, and make us want to kill him. (He said it himself.)
  4. Mexican toliets don't flush.
And then there were the tampons next to Sean and Ken (or was it Charissa?) Yelling at him, "Dont' throw the tampons!"
I really do love my church...

Well, now I must bid you adieu, and try not to get killed by my memory map.
Much Love!

Generation X! Hah! [Insert fake excitment here]

I started watching Yu-Gi-Oh! GX on YouTube ('Cause I'm a dork like that.) Funny thing is, I made the mistake of trying to watch the English dub, which is done by 4Kids. I honestly think that company should be BANNED from touching any anime. By the end of the second episode, when I had had to suffer through a girly Chazz flirting with Alexis, a creepy pedophile man on the plane, and Jaden's voice which is way to deep to be considered normal, I decided that I should probably go watch it in Japanese. Now I can make fun of the way they pronounce Cyber Blader.

Moving on from Anime, let's turn to the members of my Anime obsessed lunch table. For instance, there's me and Regina (Regina: Regina and I!) also known as the twins (we're not related.), who are the Dog and Cat whisperer, respectively. I really dislike dogs... Then there's Jen, the lone senior at our table, who is accident prone and I think Murphy has a crush on her (Murphy as in Murphy's Law, not some creeper at my school.) Not to mention Ashely, the bug whisperer, and Leann, who may very well be the most otaku-ish of us all. Ah well, I love them all any way.

I'm going to bring this post to a close, because I really can't think of anything else to write about... >.< I'll post again soon, and I will post something new on BleachInABox soon.

Oh, and Hi, by the way. I guess I kinda didn't greet you... at all.

So Basically...

All right, so here’s the thing. I am trapped in a car driving to L.A. That’s a nine hour car trip, ladies and gentleman. We started at about 2. It is now 4:50. We are just getting out of Phoenix. 352 miles to Los Angles and I’m already bored. Ah well, makes for interesting stories. Well, maybe not interesting, since all I’ve been doing is playing Yu-Gi-Oh! GX: Spirit Caller (uber fun game, by the way. Portable dueling = win!)

What I really should be doing on this car ride from hell is my homework, but… well, there’s a funny story about that [shifty eyes]. So I was looking at my planner, and I was thinking, “I should probably start practicing from my Memory Map. (Mr. Lewis’s gift to us freshman… X_X ß Dead face.)” Then I just sorta starred at my planner… and starred at it some more… And you could kinda see my enthusiasm meter hitting rock bottom. So I didn’t work on my memory map. And the moral of this story is… I am not very good at motivating myself.

We stopped for lunch a while ago. We went to Chipoltle. I am writing very short sentences. At any rate, it was my vote that decided our destination. The conversation went something like this:

Mom: Well, what do we want? McDonalds? Wendys?

Me: I don’t want fast food. I want Chipoltle.

Dad: And what’s Chipoltle. Slower food?

Me: Yeah. I like my food medium fast.

Welcome to the family.
I suppose you might be wondering what prompted me to go on a cross-country trip in the middle of the school year. Well, it’s my cousin’s Bar Mitzvah. I really wish his birthday wasn’t in the middle of the school year. (Bar Mitzvah = Jewish coming of age ceremony which happens when they turn 13. I’m not sure if I already explained this. You see, I’m writing this without Internet in the middle of nowhere.) Don’t get me wrong, I love my cousin and everything, but I’m not good at the whole “party” thing. Not unless my friends are involved. 250 miles to Los Angeles.
We just stopped at Quartsite and I got ice cream! (Dibs to be exact.) Love that stuff. It’s pure crack, I swear… :D Mint gum was also purchased. And now the sun is setting, which brings an end to all things that don’t have lighted screens. (We’re also in the middle of nowhere again, but then again, when are we not on this trip? By the time we get anywhere interesting, it’ll be dark and I won’t be able to take anymore pictures.) On a totally unrelated note, my soda just spilled in my lap. Not a happy camper… It is 7:30, and I’ll write more later.

We’re in the middle of nowhere and my parents just turned on the radio, to see if anything would come in. Something did. Justin Beiber singing “Baby” did. My automatic response was, “Ack! Turn it off! Turn it off!” They did. And then:

Me: I hate Justin Beiber. And yes, that was a guy.

Mom: Really? It didn’t sound like one.

I think I can honestly become a fan of the page on Facebook entitled, “ ‘Wow, that girl has such a pretty voice.” “That’s Justin Beiber, Mom.” Oh, excuse me. I can “like” it. (I shall not rant about how they took away the option to become a fan of something. I shall not rant about how they took away the option to become a fan of something. [etc])

Beiber Blast! Hah!

Yeah, so that was my day. I didn’t get to L.A. until 12 (midnight) and then I had to get up at 6:45 to go to my cousin’s bar mitzvah. (His name’s Sean, by the way. The older one’s name is Eric. He’s 2 years older than me, Sean’s 2 years younger.) And there you have it. Have a nice life. :D

Stay Away From Power, no wait, Shonen Couplings.

Hello again, fair world of... worldness?
And fail. Moving on.

So, I have been a very busy person for the past couple of weeks (curse you essays!). I blame this on my teachers who have decided, "Hey! Let's kill the freashman class with home work since the year is almost over!" Yeah... Not fun. At any rate, I've spent the last few weeks babbling about Creationism, Evolution, and the job of a professional musician (don't ask). Gotta love my teachers. :) Not. (Except for my Math teacher. She is epic.) Now, let's see what what stories I can dredge up from the darkest recesses of my consioucsness.

Ok, so first story. In English a couple of days ago (acctually, it was last week, but that's a minor detail) a boy in my class decided that we shouldn't acctually get anything done that day. So he raises his hand and says, "Can we talk about our troubles?" Funny thing is, my teacher acctually agreed. Sad thing is, she only gave us 10 minutes. HOwever, instead of using those 10 minutes to 'talk about our troubles' we played Ninja (best game ever. If you don't know what it is, go find out 'cause I'm too lazy to explain it right now.) That has to be the most epic game of ninja ever. One of the boys got so into it, he literally did a sommersalt across the room to hit someone. I do love my school sometimes.

I do have more to write about, but I think I'll just explain the title of this post (you know you were all just dying to find out what I was talking about) and leave you to your life. So, my bestest buddy Leann was talking about Soul Eater (an anime, just FYI) and about a pairing with one of the main characters. Me and Regina argued rather forcefully that there ARE NO PAIRINGS IN SOUL EATER! And then Regina wrote "or shonen pairings" under my quote from the 3rd Star Wars movie in my planner ("How many times do I have to tell you? Stay away from power couplings!") And so, I'll leave you. :D

-Adious!

P.S. RIP Leann, who was killed by her Biology Essay.
